Congratulations to Martha Glaze Zook

Martha Glaze Zook has spent over 25 years at Settlement Music School, the largest and one of the oldest community arts schools in the country.  She is passionate about curriculum development and arts integration and developed the music curriculum for the Kaleidoscope Preschool Arts Enrichment program In addition, she led curriculum writing for the Children’s Music Workshop at Settlement Music School. Martha advocates for early childhood music education and presents at conferences for early childhood and music educators.

She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College and a diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music. After a career playing French horn, which included 10 years with the Philadelphia Orchestra, she returned to music education and received graduate teaching certificate in the Orff Schulwerk approach. She has also taken master classes in arts integration as well as  Orff Schulwerk composition and curriculum development.
